Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman receives Legion of Merit award | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The initial air marshal Sohail Aman was awarded the Military Prize of the United States Armed Forces on Monday.
The "Legion of Merit" award is awarded to the personnel of the armed forces for their exceptionally worthy behavior.
The Chief of Aviation Personnel received the award during a ceremony held at the Aviation Headquarters.
The Central Command of the US Air Force, South-West Asia, Lieutenant-General Jeffrey Larryzyan presented the award to the chief of air traffic.
The Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, General David L. Goldfein, was also present at the videoconference ceremony.
Chief Marshal of the Air Force Sohail Aman received the award in connection with his brave leadership, insight and efforts undertaken in the war on terrorism.
. Addressing the participants through video communication, General Goldfein welcomed the efforts made by the Pakistani air force chief in the war on terrorism and his commitment to the cause.
He further noted that increasing the operational capabilities of Pakistan's air force will have a significant impact on the restoration of peace in the region.
After the ceremony, Lieutenant-General Harrigy met with the chief of aviation of Pakistan in his office and discussed issues of mutual interests. Both military leaders also agreed to increase coordination between the air forces of the two countries.
The award, which brings great honor to the Pakistani people, also seeks to strengthen relations between Pakistan and the United States.
