Daniyal Aziz’s reply in contempt case: ‘Media ran comments out of context’ | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister of Privatization Daniyal Aziz on Monday presented his response to the Supreme Court with disrespect to the court case against him, saying that as a member of parliament, he can not even think of contempt for state institutions.
Aziz in his reply stated that he believes in the supremacy of the Constitution and respects state institutions, including judicial ones.
"The media made my comments out of context," added the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League, Nawaz.
The notice of the search for Aziz was issued by the Supreme Court on February 19 after the contempt of judicial notification was sent to him on February 2 ove
In addition to Aziz, the leader PML-N Talal Chaudhry was also released from contempt for legal notice for commenting on the court, a few days after another member of PML-N Nehal Hashmi was disqualified for the same.
