Economy would crash if political instability continues: Ahsan Iqbal | Pakistan
to journalists and merchants in Shakargarh, Iqbal spoke of the effects of the economic downturn, saying that the country will no longer be able to continue investment projects if this happens.
He added that political instability in the country is being created to prevent the Pakistan Muslim Nawaz League from winning the upcoming general elections.
According to Iqbal, politics and democracy should be given its own space in the country, as politicians are supporters of people. He added that because of them, Pakistan has returned to the path of progress, with projects with billions in pipelines.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also talked about major projects, saying that no large water scheme had been initiated in the country after the hydro-energy project of Gazi-Bharat.
As part of the project, the water from the Indus River enters the canal from Gazi, and then flows back to the Indus River in Bharot after receiving 1,450 megawatts of electricity on its way.
. In addition to the project on hydropower, Iqbal said that the government also bought land for the Damir-Bhaşa dam for 1 billion rupees, adding that the construction of the dam will begin this year.
