Fire dept declares Sindh secretariat fire mysterious | Pakistan

KARACHI: The fire department chief published on Wednesday a report on the fire incident that damaged the new Sindh Secretariat building on February 24, declaring it enigmatic.

the report states that concerns were raised after looking at the entire incident.

He further said that when the fire brigade staff reached the building, the rear entrance door opened and a huge number of papers and records in the office were on fire.

The report mentioned that the fire suddenly spread to the sixth floor, and fire enveloped bundles of papers near the rear entrance.

The report states that when the fire brigade staff reached the building, they noticed that the papers were placed in a similar manner next to the elevator on all six floors.

Not only paper bundles, but also metal cabinets, where also next to the elevator on the floor, it said.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Sind Nasir Shah said that the fire occurred, but the news of damaged important documents is incorrect.

The provincial minister said that all the data is safe.


On Saturday several firefighting tenders were deployed in the evening after a fire in the new building of the Sindh Secretariat, where the offices of the chief minister, minister of information, ministers of income and industry are located.

Three fire tenders were used to extinguish a fire.
