MQM-P unites on Senate election candidates | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The division between the Muttahida Movement of the Kaumi-Pakistan (MQM-P) seems to have ended with the fact that the Bahadurabad and PIB factions are coming together for a joint press conference.
Although Dr. Farooq Sattar said that even when the differences were obvious in their statements, the two factions acted in the background. There was direct contact, and the mediators tried to resolve the situation.
Sattar added that although on some issues there are still disagreements, they tried to unite the unity in one issue in order to save the party from the division that was in the Senate elections tomorrow (on Saturday).
"At least one issue led to unity among us as to the nomination of candidates for the Senate elections," Sattar said.
Sattar announced the final names of candidates for the elections, including Dr. Farog Nasem and Kamran Tessissi for common seats. Dr Nighat Shakeel and Abdul Qadir Hanzada for the female seat and technocrat place respectively, and Sanjay Parvani was a joint candidate for minority seats.
However, when the turn of Khalid Makul Siddiqi came, it was found that there were disagreements between the candidates .
Siddiqi announced that the candidate for his faction was Dr. Farog Nasim, and Kamran Tessisi was a candidate for Dr. Farouk Sattar, to which Sattar replied that Tesseri enjoyed the same support as himself.
