Murdered Larkana artist was pregnant, killed for declining dance ‘request’ | Pakistan
LARCANA: A local artist who was shot dead on Tuesday night during a wedding ceremony was actually shot dead for refusing to participate in a militant's dance request, reports Geo News, citing the messages that appeared on Wednesday night.
Samina Sindu, a famous local performer, was killed yesterday in Kanga city when a wedding guest opened fire on her during an event of her refusal to accept his specific dance request.
According to Abdullah Sheikh, the Deputy General Inspector of Police (DIG) for Larkana, the killer of Sindhu, who was identified as Tariq Jata, was arrested.
Sindhu's body was moved to Chandka Medical College Hospital for the posthumous soon after her murder.
Local sources reported that Jata, who ordered her at gunpoint to entertain his desires, ordered her to stand up and dance instead of singing while sitting.
While she decided to get up, she refused to dance on stage in front of a packed audience, after which she was shot. Sindhu died on the spot in case the husband of the deceased called a double murder.

Commenting that further action will be taken after the medical the report of the accused will be released, the police officer explained that the video made during the wedding event is likely to be part of the subsequent investigation.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also co-chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), drew attention to the incident and stressed that the accused should be brought to court
Further, Interior Minister Sindha Suhail Anwar Sial on Wednesday morning took note of the fire incident and advised Tanvir Hussein Tunio, Senior Superintendent Ro (SSP) for Larkana, to report on the matter.
Earlier it was reported that Sindhu was shot and killed by two weddings, both of which began shooting in a state of intoxication and were subsequently arrested by law (19459008)
However, it later became clear that there was one gunman who shot dead Sindhu.
