Nawaz asks supporters to make upcoming elections referendum on his disqualification | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that today they appoint a new party president, as the situation was created to bring them to this point.
He addresses the Central Assembly of the General Council of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in the capital.
"When I look back, I do not understand why the Prime Minister was dismissed with millions of votes," he said, adding that this move moved the country into darkness.
Nawaz argued that the Prime Minister often complains to him that he [Nawaz] planned so many development projects that Abbasi was tired of their inauguration.
Nawaz admitted that he does not want to open development projects now, since he is also only a man. He referred to the Prime Minister's proposal to launch projects he personally worked on.
Three-time prime minister recalled the dismal state of affairs when PML-N took the reins in 2013.
Turning to the supporters of the charged party, Nawaz said that the manifesto of the party will consist of four words this time: Vote ko izzat do [respect the vote]. Then the crowd repeated this phrase in unison.
"You will be respected if the vote is respected," Nawaz said.
Then he asked the crowd to make the upcoming general election a referendum on his disqualification.
Speaking to his main political opponent, Imran Khan, Nawaz said that you could not achieve the promised "changes".
