Nisar assures PM Abbasi of supporting PML-N in Senate polls | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister Chaudri Nisar assured Prime Minister Shahid Hagan Abbasi on Friday that he would support the Pakistan Muslim Nawaz league in the Senate polls on Saturday.
The Prime Minister met with former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, while both were in parliament.
During a brief meeting between the two senior leaders of the PML-N, Abbasi asked Nisar to attend the meeting to vote on the Senate's electoral lists.
Nisar, along with confidence in the support of PML-N, agreed to attend the session.

Nisar came to the House of Parliament and spent some time in the chambers of the National Assembly of the Speaker Ayaz Sadik.

It was found that Nawaz decided not to extend the invitation to Nisar, who was associated with PML-N for more than three decades, to the Central Working Group Committee (CWC) that day.
The reported decision comes after Nisar openly opposed Nawaz's position in the political strategy of the party following the verdict of the Supreme Court on July 28, which drove the former out of state posts.
Nizar distanced himself in the last few months from PML-N and the dominant policy after disagreements over party politics.

In his informal conversation with reporters, Khan said that it would be better if Nisar joins his party, promising his support to the former interior minister, even he decided to challenge the next election as an independent candidate.
