Pakistan-Russia Consultative Group meets in Islamabad | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The 12th meeting of the Consultative Group on Strategic Stability between Pakistan and Russia was held on Friday in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital.
According to the ministry, Ambassador Tasnim Aslam, the special secretary of the United Nations and economic coordination, led the Pakistani side, and the Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov.
The two sides carried out an in-depth exchange of information on regional and global developments, including arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons.
. Negotiations were marked by the commonality of the approach and convergence on a number of current problems, the statement added.
Both sides agreed on the need to further use bilateral relations by studying mutually beneficial ways of bilateral cooperation, the statement said.
. The Pakistan-Russia Advisory Group on Strategic Stability is the platform for a structured dialogue between the two sides and has been holding a meeting since 2003.
