PIA ‘blacklists supplier’ over incorrect manufacturing date on sugar sachet | Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) reported on Saturday that it had blacklisted the supplier of the sugar sachet, which had the wrong production date.
The image of the sachet spread on the PIA flight, and with "July 2018", written as the date of manufacture, was distributed in social networks earlier this week.
"The PIA manages strict SOPs for its flying kitchen. Customers and their well-being are high priorities. After a thorough check of the available stocks, the batch of sachet plugs with the wrong manufacturing date was returned to the supplier. The supplier was blacklisted, and the PIA issued an official notice demanding compensation for damages, "the airline said in a statement.
The airline's CEO and president Musharraf Rasool Cyan ordered another check of all food in the field kitchen.
Currently, an investigation is being conducted to take the necessary measures against negligence, if any, of the airline officials, "the statement added.
The airline previously annoyed passengers, presumably offering meals under couples on flights,
