Power Division minister to assess performance of distribution companies | Business
ISLAMABAD: Minister of Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Lehari issued a guide for the evaluation of the activities of distribution companies (DIKOs) and their leaders in order to eliminate any inconsistencies in accordance with the official press release.
DISCO's results will be evaluated based on their success in order to bridge the gap in the sold and billed accounts, the statement to the press says.
A performance review meeting was held today, after which a notice was issued.
Legari instructed the directors of all DIKOs to submit quarterly petitions on tariff regulation in March with the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
This will also help to narrow the gap in the invoiced bills and the recovered amount from DISCO.
The Federal Minister instructed the general directors to ensure the replacement of defective counters within seven days after he was found to be defective, in addition, freeing the backlog of defective counters in their respective DISCOs until March 31, 2018.
Legari also instructed all chairmen of the Board of Directors to make an appropriate procurement plan for the next fiscal year and approve it by April 15, 2018.
