PTI to stonewall PML-N’s nomination for Senate chairman: Imran | Pakistan
PESHAWAR: The Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) will try to weaken the attempts of the ruling party in its efforts to appoint the chairman of the Senate from PML-N, Imran Khan chairman said on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference, the chairman of PTI claimed that the current procedure for holding elections in the Upper Chamber encourages the trade of horses, and the votes are sold.
He also argued that a secret ballot gives the opportunity to sell votes and not be held accountable.
Imran said that PTI also conducts an internal investigation after polls in the Senate and adds that the senators were bought for more than 40 million rupees.
Appreciating those lawmakers who did not "sell themselves", the PTI Chairman said that the party needed "such people"
"The chairman must be from Balochistan"
Imran met with the chief minister of Balochistan Abdul Kudos Bizhenho on Thursday evening and said that the upper slot in the province should be from the province.
. Adding to Imran, Bizhenho also expressed the hope that the chairman of the Senate will be from Balochistan.
Imran added that the chief minister of the province was changed by his own forces democratic process.
Bizenjo also previously met co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari.
