SC disposes of contempt petition against Imran Khan | Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday to disregard the court petition against the Pakistani chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

Senior lawyer Nasir Ahmed Kiyani filed a petition against Imran, accusing the chief of the PTI of making derogatory remarks against Pakistan's former chief judge Iftikhar Chaudhry.

As the hearing began, attorney Hashmat Habib informed the Supreme Court that he could not contact his client.

A three-man stand, headed by the chairman of Justice of Justice of Pakistan Sakib Nisar, then ordered a petition.

It is expected that the top court will also consider today petitions of contempt against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Iftikhar Chaudhry.

The petition was filed by attorney Riaz Hanif Rahi
