FAISALABAD: The residents of Jaranwala closed shops and markets on Monday to protest the rape and murder of a girl who was about six years old, whose body was discovered from the field the day before.
The protesters violated traffic, blocking the road and burning tires.
They also shouted slogans against the police, demanding the immediate arrest of the killer.
On the other hand, the police stated that the case against unidentified persons was filed under the name of the father of the deceased minor Mohammad Afzal.
The FIR stated that an unidentified person raped a minor and then strangled her.
Later pupils also joined the protest, while the number was due to rise after graduation and graduation from college in the afternoon.
